The position exists to manage clinical outcomes, cost, and customer satisfaction in the daily care assignment and in the operations of the unit. The incumbent assures care for patients and families reflective of the organization values. This position coordinates the nursing and interdisciplinary team for daily patient care assignments. Additionally, this position exists to provide assessment and appropriate interventions to stabilize the patient for ground or air trans! port through the use of critical thinking skills. The incumben! t will collaborate with the control physician pertaining to the delivery of care. Responsible for communicating effectively with the referral and receiving medical personnel to ensure customer service objectives are met. QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
Prefer a current passport or eligibility to obtain passport.
Requires valid Indiana drivers license.
Requires maintenance of BLS; ACLS; PALS; and NRP. TNATC; Peds CCRN and CFRN within 2 years.
Certification in POC; Istat.
Basic Life Support certification required. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor?s of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE. New ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013 will be required to compl! ete their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire into this job.
Requires and maintains an Illinois Registered Professional Nurses license.
Promotes excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Requires a minimum of 3 years experience; 5 years preferred of medical transport; ICU; or ER experience.
Requires competency in all advanced skills related to critical care transport medicine.
Requires the ability to interact with all disciplines of transport team.
Requires ability to react appropriately in any environmental or situation.
Requires knowledge and awareness of safety hazards and communicates safety issues appropriately and effectively.
Requires ability to understand and apply crew resources management to provide a safe environment.
Requires the ability to interact with all disciplines of transport team.
Requires initiative in recognizing performance issues and communicates them effectively to management staff.
Requ! ires ability to provide clinical reasoning; decision-making and clinica! l thinking.
Requires ability to promote compassion and a therapeutic environment.
Requires ability to provide multiple forms of communication (presence; touch; eye contact; etc.) .
Requires ability to recognize and appreciate cultural diversity at many levels.
Requires ability to provide high level of patient confidentiality.
