Essential job functions
The Supervisor, Housekeeping will oversee the Housekeepers that will perform one or all of the following sections:
Patient Room Cleaner
Cleans rooms, lounges, restrooms, elevators, locker rooms, nurse's stations and other work areas.
Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Empties wastebaskets.
Dusts and wet mops floors.
Collects soiled linens for laundering.
Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
Washes walls, vents, ceiling, and woodwork.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Transports trash and waste including biohazardous to disposal area.
Replenishes supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels and hand soap.
Moves and arranges furniture.
Removes and hangs draperies and dusts Venetian blinds.
Keeps record of work co! mpleted.
Maintains equipment by keeping it clean and ! reporting mechanical problems.
Responds to spills and emergencies.
Non-Patient Room Cleaner
Cleans rooms, lunges, restrooms, elevators, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Replenishes supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap.
Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner.
Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
Cleans stairwells.
Washes walls, vents, ceiling, and woodwork.
Empties wastebaskets.
Dusts and wet mops floors.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Transports trash and waste including biohazardous to disposal area.
Moves and arranges furniture.
Keeps record of work completed.
Maintains equipment by keeping it clean and reporting mechanical problems.
Responds to spills and emergencies.
Waste Removal
Picks up trash at proper times and locations and tran! sports trash to proper location.
Properly loads and operates trash compactor.
Cleans assigned trash carts and containers.
Cleans assigned areas such as cart storage rooms.
Properly handles general and biohazardous waste.
Responds to spills and emergencies.
Surgery
Between case cleaning including:
Dusts and wet mop floors.
Washes lights if visibly soiled.
Scrubs and disinfects bed.
Washes door handles.
Washes rolling stock.
Cleans other soiled areas as requested or as necessary.
Stores Linens.
Reports maintenance problems seen and repairs needed to the Unit Secretary to call in.
Cleans and scrubs sinks and stocks soap and hand towels.
Dusts beds, lights, and tables.
Cleans offices, locker rooms, break areas and work areas.
Removes and transports trash and waste including biohazrdous to disposal area.

Cleans windows.
Cleans restrooms.
Polishes metal! work, such as fixtures and fittings.
Responds to spills and emergencies.
Auxiliary/Project Assistant
Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner and extraction equipment.
Dusts and wet mops floors.
Maintains corners, baseboards, and handrails.
Operates machinery including battery and cord-electric buffers, extractors, and auto scrubbers.
Removes, re-applies and, buffs floor finish.
Assists in moving furniture.
Responds to spills and emergencies.
Works with Housekeeping Coordinator in the Following:
Assigns staff their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Screens job applicants and recommends potential candidates to Department Director.
Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions, and prepares reports.
Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explai! n policies, work procedures and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
Knowledge, skills & abilities

Minimum qualification s
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
