Care Partner/Clerk

Location: New Castle Indiana

Description: Henry County Hospital is presently looking of Care Partner/Clerk right now, this job will be placed in Indiana. NA - Works under close supervision by assisting in the care of patients by answering nurse call lights, bathing, dressing, feeding, transporting, and providing for the basic needs of the patient. Monitors vita! l signs and other patient activities, reports changes to the RN or LPN. Changes bed linen and maintains assigned patients rooms in an orderly fashion. Functions under the scope of service as outlined in the unit specific PI Plan. Clerk - Works independently in providing various clerical services to their assigned unit. Processes physicians orders and works collaboratively with many departments to schedule patient tests and appointments to expedite patient diagnoses and treatment. Required to contact and interacts with other facilities in order to arrange appointments, tests, and transfers. May monitor telemetry rhythms for pertinent changes in cardiac rhythms and interprets rhythms and keeps nurse informed of life threatening arrhythmias. Technician/Clerks are responsible for monitoring blood pressure and oxygen sats and reporting changes to appropriate nurse. Records pertinent patient information and rhythm strips in the clinical record. May assist with basic patient needs! as necessary. Consistently acts as a focus of communication f! or internal/external customer service. Performs computer operations accurately and efficiently. Initiates and maintains admission, discharge, and transfer information. Responsible for accurate billing/charge entry.

QUALIFICATIONS: NA - Work requires the ability to read well enough to follow specific and detailed nursing procedures, the ability to write legibly, use good English grammar, spell accurately and communicate effectively with a variety of people. This level of education is normally acquired through completion of a high school education. Completion of a certified nursing assistant program or previous experience. Three to twelve months as a nursing assistant is preferred. Clerk - Requires the ability to read and write well enough to follow detailed procedures, ability to perform basic mathematics, knowledge of office procedures and equipment, and ability to type. Also requires the ability to read telemetry monitor strips and interpret life threatenin! g arrhythmic conditions. Knowledge of basic medical terminology helpful. This level of education requires at least a high school education. Six to twelve months of clinical/clerical experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

WORKING HOURS: FULL-TIME, 2P-10P includes working every other weekend and every other holiday.
