• FULL TIME. The Chief Nursing Officer directs and coordinates professional and ancillary departmental activities concerned with patient care. This position also plans and ! conducts conferences and discussions with administrative professional and auxiliary staff to encourage participation in formulating department policies, promoting initiative, solving problems and interpreting new regulations and procedures. The Chief Nursing Officer coordinates activities of various hospital departments, promoting and maintaining harmonious relationships among personnel, medical staff, patients and public; analyzes and evaluates nursing and ancillary services to improve quality of service and economic use of resources; paticipates in commuity educational health programs; and is responsible for hospital mission and strategy input.

Needs to have recent clinical experience. EDUCATION NEEDED: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or Business Administration, graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, participation in or a plan for an advanced degree. EXPERIENCE NEEDED: Three to five years of hospital management experience, during which ex! ecutive ability has been demonstrated and the necessary genera! l characteristics have been shown. Previous CNO experience preferred.
