More complete informations about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Director of University Health Services (UHS) is responsible for the leadership and management of UHS. UHS, located in Saint Liam Hall along with the Universi! ty Counseling Center and the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC); it provides primary outpatient medical and nursing care, an inpatient/observation unit, sports medicine, outreach medical services, travel consultation, immunizations and allergy injections, and ancillary services (pharmacy, clinical laboratory, physical therapy, and radiology). The pharmacy, clinical laboratory, and physical therapy service are provided for students' convenience through arrangements with independent contractors. All dimensions of our health care services respect the dignity of each individual and support the Catholic character of the University of Notre Dame.
The Director collaborates closely with colleagues in St. Liam Hall and throughout the Division of Student Affairs, as well as with other campus and community stakeholders, to promote a strategic and holistic vision for health and wellness for st! udents at Notre Dame and to support and sustain a healthy camp! us community.
The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Services and has responsibility for the operation of UHS' 24/7 clinical and outreach services, budget and financial administration, and health care risk management to ensure all state, federal, and AAAHC standards are met. In addition, the director oversees the negotiation of the University-sponsored health insurance plan and oversees the management of that program.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires a master's degree in health care administration, public administration, health systems management, nursing, public health, or health education. Doctorate in one of these fields is appreciated but not required.
- Candidates must have at least seven years of supervisory and management experience in health care services and administration, including the design, development, and direction of health-related programs and services and responsibility for q! uality of medical practice and outreach, fiscal management, budget development, and contractor/vendor relationships.
- The University prefers that candidates have knowledge of and direct experience in college health or in a related area of health care practice and administration. Candidates with community or public health training, experience in clinical preventive services, and a strong background in quality management will receive particular attention.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communications and critical thinking skills are essential.
