Independently practices in areas of specialty to collaborate and consult with physicians and healthcare providers to develop and promot! e research based standards to enhance quality of care to patients, families and the community. As a member of the research committee supports the development of our research program throughout the hospital. Acts as a liaison and communicates at a high level with administration, the physicians, the staff of areas of specialty and ancillary departments to assure high quality cost-effective health and hospital services.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Must have a current Indiana Registered Nurse license.
Must have a Masters Degree in Nursing or working toward same.
Must remain competent in knowledge and skills to assess nursing care based upon age-specific and developmental need of the patients (child through geriatrics).
Must possess a high level of knowledge in regard to health care policies, regulatory standards, governmental regulations and reimbursement practices pertinent to t! he department.
Must possess highly developed interpersonal! skills in order to relate to all levels of employees and personality types, negotiates effective working relationships, and develops positive resolution to conflict.
Needs a strong customer service orientation with the ability to be discrete and confidential in all areas.
Must have highly developed interpersonal skills in order to relate to all customers, including physicians, other employees, patients and their families.
Be able to comprehend research material, statistics, and medical records and to communicate findings effectively both verbally and in writing.
Recognize appropriate plan of care for specific patient.

Working Conditions:
Working in a normal office environment as well as on different nursing units.
Work product requires precise measures of quantity and quality.
Dealing with highly confidential information.
Be on occasion at risk for occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material.
! Must be able to tolerate strong odors and frequent alarms.
Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment
Ability to use standard office and patient care equipment. Must be able to physically carry out functions for patient care that include standing, walking, pulling, pushing, stooping, with ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 300 pounds.

Must possess good diction and grammar as well as exceptional voice projection and quality.
Must be able to critically think with a preference to speak before small or large groups.
Ability to share information for the good of others is paramount.
Read and comprehend research material, statistics, and medical records.
Recognize appropriate plan of care for specific patient.
Operate personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and other standard office equipment.
