Exceeds the expectations of patients and visitors by creating an extraordinary experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing Units! and MGH by greeting people warmly, sincerely, and with empathy. The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse plans, directs, and evaluates clinical care of the patient given directly or through other members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Indiana Registered Nurse License. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. No experience is required as the Medical-Surgical department engages new nursing graduates. Ability to be discrete and protect confidential information. Strong customer service orientation.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the employee to regularly be at risk for occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials.
The employee must be able to work holidays, weekends, day, evening, and night hours, based on the department needs.

Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment: This position requires critical thinking skills, math skills! , and strong interpersonal skills.
This position requires frequent walking, some bending, some lifting, and standing for periods of time to manage, coordinate and administer nursing care and the ability to lift 50 pounds and push and pull 200 pounds.
Use of personal computer , telephone equipment, paging systems, fax machines, copier, and those equipment items necessary to provide patient care, i.e. thermometers, blood pressure manameters and stethoscope, intravenous equipment (pumps, sharps, etc.). These are not meant to be all inclusive.

Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
