Responsible for all aspects of the Health Center, including administrative duties, staff supervision, direct patient care, and educational outreach.
R! esponsibilities
Coordinate, direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of the Valparaiso University Health Center.
Hire, orient and supervise the nursing and clerical staff of the Health Center.
Provide diagnostic and treatment nursing care for Valparaiso students, under the direction and supervision of the Valparaiso University physician.
Serve as the administrative liaison between the nursing staff, the University physician, and the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Develop and coordinate a health education program on campus.
Coordinate and supervise the processing of student health insurance claims.
Develop and administer an annual budget and supervise all fiscal matters within the area of the Health Center.
Prepare Health Center reports.
Provide in-service training for Health Center staff, including yearly OSHA training for blood borne pathogen exposure.
Serve as! a consultant to other University personnel regarding health m! atters.
Participate with other members of the Student Affairs and University staff in the planning and implementation of the total student services program.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Required Skills
Qualifications :
A Master's degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner's Certificat! e, with 5-7 years previous experience as a nurse. In addition, 2 years or more as a nurse practitioner and administrative experience are preferred. The Director must display excellent nurse practitioner skills.
