- High School Diploma or equivalency required
- Indiana Licensure Required
- 1-2 yrs experience required
Experience: Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience with a minimum of one year experience with Pyxis functions.
Under the supervision/direction of staff pharmacists and the director of pharmacy, the automation technician performs Pyxis and CII safe operations including set up, configuration, transfer of pyxis machines as necessary within the hospital, delivery, loading and unloading of medications, and other pyxis or technician functions as determined by the director of pharmacy. Under the supervision/direction of staff pharmacists and the director of pharmacy, the pyxis technician assists pharmacists in all phases of the medication distribution process. Technicians assist in the filling of medication orders, preparation of IV admixtures, maintenance of records, charging, and deliveries to nursing units.
