Noblesville Family Medicine
Education required includes gr! aduation from an AMA approved Medical Assisting Training program (a training program which has been fully accredited by the Commission on Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. Please note: nursing experience or on-the-job training do not meet this qualification).
In addition, due to regulatory requirements candidates must provide documented verification of graduation from High School or equivalent secondary education.
Certification in American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Healthcare Providers is required.
Experience required includes prior work experience in a medical office or related patient care experience. National Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
As a member of the healthcare team the Medical Assistant demonstrates active patient advocacy to ensure all rights are identified and met for every patient. This job encompasses all duties relating to dail! y back office functions. Outstanding customer service skills a! nd understanding of confidentiality, productivity, and infection control standards are required.
Some primary duties include phlebotomy; injections; immunizations; special procedures; venipuncture; cleansing wounds; laboratory testing in compliance with written policies and procedures; EKGs; Quality Assurance necessary to meet and maintain regulatory requirements; arranging for diagnostic testing, specialist referral and hospital admission; initiate and finalize managed care referrals; patient check-in and check-out, chart organization, filing, typing, scheduling appointments, receiving payments; answering telephones including triage; maintaining exam rooms, offices, and supplies; room patients, VS and prepare patients for exams; comply with CE requirements; and assist with data collection. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties incumbents may be asked to perform.
