Description: University of Notre Dame is currently seeking to employ Nurse for Clinical Psychology Research Lab (PT-Temporary) right now, this occupation will be placed in Indiana. This part-time nurse position involves placing IV lines, setting up an infusion pump, and drawing b! lood several times over 4-hour, evening sessions with research participants. The nurse will interface with the Principle Investigator, Project Coordinator, graduate student, and undergraduate research assistants during study sessions. The Project Coordinator or graduate student will be the primary "guide" for the research participant and will coordinate all events during study sessions. Study sessions will generally take place from 4:00-8:00 on weekdays and possibly on weekends. In each study session, the nurse will perform the following tasks: (1) Obtain height & weight of study participant; (2) arrange pick-up of infusion solution (low-dose hydrocortisone or saline placebo) from pharmacy; (3) insert two IV lines in participant's arms; (4) collect blood samples from one of the IV lines over the course of the 4-hour session at times designated by the study session protocol (9 total samples per session); (5) set up infusion pump and deliver infusion through the other IV line! ; (6) monitor IV lines and correct problems as needed (e.g. ap! ply hot packs); (7) remove IV lines and bandage sites at times designated by the protocol; (8) give study participants instructions as to hydration and monitoring of IV sites. During study sessions, the nurse will work closely with the Project Coordinator while following the study protocol. The nurse will attend occasional meetings with project team outside of the study sessions. Study participants are drawn from the local community and will range in age from 18-90; for this position, extensive IV-placement experience is desired, as well as willingness to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
Minimum Qualifications
Indiana licensed nurse.

Willingness to work evenings - study sessions typically take place from 3pm to 9pm. Hours will vary by date and times. Willingness to work some weekend hours is ! a plus.
