High school graduate, or equivalent. CNA or Medical Assistant Diploma preferred. Must be able to complete a two- person lift, wheelchair to exam table. Minimum Experience Required
One year experience in a nursing / medical office setting. Office skills such as word processing, data base entry and spreadsheet desirable. Licensure/Certification Required
C.N.A. or Medical Assistant Diploma preferred. Essential Functions
- Direct Care Services: Provides direct care for patients including procedures and wound specific treatment as directed by the RN or physician. Reports patient response to care and other clinical data to RN in a timely manner. Assists clerical staff in preparing for clinic sessions by preparing charts with forms and worksheets and performing general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and patient registration. Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Planning/Organizing/Initiating: Maintains an active role in keeping the clinic fully stocked with instruments and wound supplies. Documents utilization of supplies with appropriate charges noted. Actively keeps patients and families informed of care and anticipated wait time. Accepts direction from supervising clinical staff and responds to requests in a timely manner.
- General Work Practices: Maintains a safe environment which is conducive to patient care and which complies with all state and federal guidelines. Participates in change efforts toward improvement of the work environment.
- Follows proper channels of communication, anticipating and consistently handling routine problems and referring complex issues to the Clinical Manager. Communicates consistently in a clear, concise and timely manner. Promotes a harmonious working relationship with clinic staff.
- Health and Safety: Adheres to infection control, emergency, safety, fire and disaster plans and policies, completing required initial training and updates per Hospital policy. Demonstrates consistent use of Standard Precautions, proper body mechanics and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintains the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI), the confidentiality of all information, and conducts all aspects of patient care charting, billing, and all operations within the system in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with Federal, State, and HRHS rules and regulations.
