Nurse Practitioner- Urgent Care

Location: Bloomington Indiana

Description: Bloomington Hospital is currently seeking to employ Nurse Practitioner- Urgent Care right now, this career will be placed in Indiana. Detailed specification about this career opportunity please read the description below. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing both urgent and occupational health care for outpatients. Services include but are not limited to management of routine adult and pediatric wellness care, minor trauma, acute illness and chronic illness, pre-employment and other pre-participation physicals and participate in worker’s compensation evaluations. The Nurse Practitioner reports to the Director of Urgent Care/Center for Occupational Health with medical supervision provided by the Medical Director and the on-site physician.

Education Requirements

  • Masters of Science in Nursing Degree required for Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum Experience Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current Indiana NP license required.
  • Current, unrestricted Indiana CSR and eligible for US DEA certification is required.
Minimum Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements
  • Certification by the Credentialing Board in the physician's specialty within five years of employment with IU Health Bloomington Hospital is required.
  • Current license for unrestricted practice of medicine by the State of Indiana required.
  • Current practice agreement with physician filed with the State of Indiana.
  • Current unrestricted Indiana Department of Professional Standards and US Drug Enforcement Administration certifications required.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Frequently (34 - 66%): Walking, Bending/Stooping, Computer Usage, Kneeling/Squatting, Reaching and Twisting
  • Occasionally (1 - 33%): Climbing stairs and Sitting
  • Rarely (<1%): Climbing ladders and Crawling
  • Will constantly carry up to 10 lbs, frequently carry up to 25 lbs, occasionally carry up to 50 lbs and rarely carry above 51 lbs
  • Will constantly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and rarely lift above 51 lbs
  • Will constantly pull up to 10 lbs, frequently pull up to 25 lbs, occasionally pull up to 50 lbs and rarely pull above 51 lbs
  • Will constantly push up to 10 lbs, frequently push up to 25 lbs, occasionally push up to 50 lbs and rarely push above 51 lbs
