Responsibilities

This role ensures the delivery of direct care to patients throughout the St. Vincent Hospitals and Health Services system. The Registered Nurse role assesses and monitors patient's health, designs and implements the nursing care plans, operates medical equipment, and works in collaboration with the other members of the medical and support staff. This position is also responsible for providing appropriate medical information and education to patients and families, and for supervision and instructing Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Technicians, and students. This position performs its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the St. Vincent mission and core values.

Qualifications

Current State of Indiana Registered Nurse license required. CPR required within 90 days of hire. A minimum of 1 year ER experience necessary but 3-5 years experience preferred. Computer skills needed.

ACLS and PALS required within first year of employment with continued recertification every 2 years. Applicant must be able to adapt to stressful situations, willing to learn new ideas, have good verbal, telephone and listening skills. Applicant must have excellent analytical skills.

Hours: PRN. Applicant must be flexible with work schedule.
