Monitors consumers utilizing Rest Assured monitoring system. Tele-Caregivers will provide oversight and supervision to consumers in remote locations to assure their health, safety and personal needs are being met. Will monitor for hazards and provide assistance as needed, via verbal prompting or dispatching on-call staff. Will be proficient in Rest Assured monitoring system.
Essential Functions
Will assure health, safety and personal needs are being met for up to 32 residential habilitation sites.
Will provide direction (prompts) to consumers as required by protocols or observation of potentially dangerous situations.
Will accurately document all consumers' activities in accordance with BQIS standards.
Will maintain training standards set forth by BQIS.
Will report system malfunctions in a timely manner to appropriate Rest Assured, LLC staff.
Will maintain attendance schedules set forth by Coordinator/General Manager or designee.
Attend and participate in team meetings regularly.
Will treat all consumer information as confidential and comply with HIPPA regulations and the Rest Assured, LLC Tele-Caregiver Policy and Procedures Manual.
Has a continuing obligation to protect trade secrets, propriety information and other internal informatiomn, data and materials of Rest Assured, LLC per policy #6.7 of the Human Resources Policy and Practice Manual.
Will inform supervisor of all BDDS reportable incidents, and potential problems, within a timely manner.
Will follow monitoring protocols and/or instruction by supervisor.
Will read all information sources, as designated by policy, prior to each monitoring shift.
Will communicate with all consumers, residential staff, coworkers, and supervisors in a professional manner.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent and demonstrate the ability to read and write adequately, using proper grammer, sentences, spelling, and punctuation, to complete required forms and reports.
Must successfully complete agency required training within specified time.
Have at least 2 years experience working with developmentally disabled adults and/or children.
Must possess interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work productively with consumers, residential staff, and coworkers.
Must be able to demonstrate computer literacy.
Ability to multitask, set priorities, and follow-up on responsibilities.
Limited criminal history must show there are no convictions for the following:
a) Sex Crime
b) Exploitation of an endangered adult
c) Failure to report Battery, Neglict or Exploitation of an endangered adult or Abuse or Neglict of
child
d) Theft, if the person's conviction for theft occurred less than ten (10) years
e) Murder
f) Voluntary manslaughter
g) Involuntary manslaughter
h) Felony battery
i) Felony offense relating to a controlled substance
j) Finding in the State Nurse Aid Registry of the Indiana State Department of Health
Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including but not limited to sitting for long periods of time, repetitive motions/movements, looking at computer monitoer for long periods of time, and wearing audio headset.
Must be able to type 25 words per minute
Must be able to see color
