This position exists to perform a variety of patient care services as directed by physicians or practice manager. Assures smooth patient flow, assists with examination procedures, collects patient information, point of care testing where applicable provides patient education and clerical support. QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse required. Current CPR Certification. Knowledge of various standard laboratory and medical procedures. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Familiarity and operating knowledge of designated equipment and supplies. Data entry and basic math skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to accurately collect patient information. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse and low income populations. Ability to provide patient education pertaining to a diagnosed illness, preparation for tests, patient care and diet, or related subject based on pre-established content. Ability to work independently and assist with medical procedures. Ability to work on teams. Ability to perform functions of an electronic medical record per department/clinic standards. Ability to articulate physician directions to patients via telephone and written communication. Ability to provide high level of patient confidentiality.
