Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RN) to provide dedicated, compassionate service to the residents in our skilled nursing care / rehabilitation center in the role of Clinical Reimbursement Coordinato! r (MDS RN).

Summary:
Perform ongoing evaluation from preadmission through discharge to ensure an appropriate reimbursement level for each resident.

Collaborate with other teams, such as the nursing staff, within the healthcare facility to ensure completion of resident assessments.

Job Responsibilities

Review resident medical records, care plans and charting to ensure proper documentation supports care provided and reimbursement level

Manage communication with managed care, VA and other payor sources

Monitor facility practices to ensure compliance with guidelines for participation in Medicare, Medicaid and other benefit programs

Ensure all new residents receive a completed and timely MDS assessment

Schedule, complete and transmit timely MDS assessments and reports in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, OBRA and other program requirements

Anticipate additional assessments triggered by ! significant changes in resident status

Minimum Requir! ements

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse license in the state

Working knowledge of MDS 3.0

Strong attention to detail coupled with strong organizational skills

Strong computer and MS Office proficiency

Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and managed-care criteria

Ability to communicate confidently, clearly, concisely and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing

Experience as an MDS Coordinator in a skilled care / rehabilitation environment of 1-3 years preferred
