General Statement of Duties

Communicates expectations and supervises performance of nursing staff and other health care providers. Evaluates the effectiveness of the department in meeting the needs of residents, staff, families and visitors. Assigned overall responsibility of entire nur! sing department. Hands-on involvement with participatory manag! ement style.

Essential Job Functions
Organizes, supervises and evaluates the nursing department.
Supervises and evaluates resident care.
Knows and enforces state and federal regulations.
Participates in implementation of and adherence to the annual nursing budget.
Promotes constructive working relationships between health care disciplines.
Participates in various committees.
Maintains professional competence.
Assists with safety assurance for residents and employees. Job Qualifications
Registered/licensed nurse graduate from an accredited state approved school of nursing with current licensure to practice in the State of Indiana.
B.S. Degree in nursing strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing management in a long term care facility.
Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid; long term care preferred.
