JOB SUMMARY:
The nurse practitioner performs as an independent and interdependent member of the health team to provide specialty advanced practice nursing care in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, collaborativeagreement and established policies, procedures and protocols of the St.Vincent Indianapolis Regional
Hosp! itals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Independent! ly develops the plan of care utilizing advanced assessment, knowledge, skills, teaching, and ritical thinking to optimize patient outcomes.
2) Consults and collaborates with other members of the health care team as appropriate to enhance patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
3) Counsels and educates patients, families, caregivers, health care team members in the management of health care needs.
4) Participates in periodic evaluation of care provided.
5) May provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other health care providers or community resources. Prescriptive authority, if applicable, directed by the sponsoring physician, as required in the Collaborative Agreement.
6) Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full time days.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. MSN from a formalized, accredited program
2. Cu! rrent Indiana RN license
3. Current NP Certification by ANA, National Certification Corporation, or Specialty Organization
4. BLS Healthcare provider required
5. Three (3) years of Pediatric Gastroenterology clinical nursing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years of nurse pratictioner experience
