Summary
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production flows, establishing efficient process layout, coordinating new product introduction to production, and setting up product routings for production applications.
Prime Responsibilities of the Position
Innovation, Transfer, and Industrialization Project
Develop production flows, space requirements, and personnel resource requirements for existing and new activities
Conduct launch projects for new and transfer product lines to the Greenwood DIvision
Draft and design the layout of facilities, equipment, materials, and workspaces to maximize efficiency and optimize workflows using draft tools like AutoCAD
Minimize inventory effects on business through proper ! definition of on hand materials
Coordinate with globa! l and local partners for new production lines including equipment installation and verify compliance
Train employees on new procedures
Provide detailed input and calculations to optimize existing and new production projects
Develop and adhere to task lists, functions, and time and money schedules for project team
Work as part of a global team in the development of projects
Training and Support
Develop or change procedural training guides in accordance wih project assignment
Prepare, update, and sustain data handling and definition in SAP
Prepare BOM and routing of new or existing products in SAP, ABAKUS, and Citrix
Maintain engineering change (ECN) databases for production changes
Execute Technically Spcial Production (TSP) execution including BOM changes, routing, and clarifications
Maintain TSP records
Project Management
Hold routine status meetings about p! rojects and ongoing happenings
Publish tasks and timelines while holding team members accountable for their function
Conduct OEE evaluations to determine the process effectiveness and estimate ROI for existing and future projects
Provide contingency as needed for capacity, downtown, or maintenance periods in production
Support project leaders in other division to ensure local division is informed on changes that affect local production
Additional Duties
Support the continuous improvement process
Develop and maintain ISO procedures and documents
Support production and production engineering functions to maintain operations
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Minimum Education/Experience
Must possess an engineering degree and at least three (3) to five (5) years of related experience; education may be substituted with proven experience.
Travel
! Skills/Certifications
Ability to interface with indiiduals at all levels inside and outside of the organization
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
Ability to multi-task and set priorities according to workload
Detail oriented - accuracy ad efficiency are critical
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to self-motivate and prioritize activities
Must be able to execute good time management
Ability to set and achieve goals and objectives
Must have decision making effectiveness
Experience with SAP applications (preferred)
Greenbelt and/or Blackbelt training (preferred)
