Description: Aspire Indiana is looking of Life Skills Coach - May House_29_0913 right now, this career will be placed in Indiana. For detail informations about this career opportunity please read the description below. This full-time position is for our 24-hour Group Home located in Anderson, IN. The Life Skills Coach (LSC) will provide skills training and development to seriously mentally ill ! adults. Duties include: orienting consumers/clients to psychiatric rehabilitation process, observing and documenting their independent living skills, teaching critical skills (e.g., hygiene, personal care, safety, meal preparation, housekeeping, money management, etc.), as needed to reach the individual's goals, training consumers/clients in the use of community services (food pantry, library, public transportation, etc), as needed, transporting residents, monitoring their health and self-administration of medication, etc. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of (1) year related experience in a service capacity to individuals in need (e.g., children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally, and/or mentally disabled, special needs, nursing care, etc.) Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines Must be capable of exercising ! good judgment in crisis situations Must be extremely detail or! iented Good communicator Good presentation skills Must be flexible and cooperative Must be able to learn quickly and grasp new procedures and concepts Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Ability to work and effectively deal with multiple types of personalities in a variety of situations Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Must be results driven Professional presentation Must be self-motivated and research oriented Must possess and demonstrate good problem solving skills Must support diversity Must maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization Desirable Qualifications: Previous work experience in a health care setting; preferably Mental Health Prior work or life experience with adults who have a serious mental illness
