Will be responsible for independently managing servers and related systems and services in the School of Nursing including file servers, print servers, database servers and appl! ication servers for all Windows and UNIX server operating environments; physical and virtual for multiple School of Nursing campuses.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, independently managing servers and related systems and services for the School of Nursing on the Indianapolis and Bloomington Campuses, including file servers, print servers, database servers and application servers for all Windows Server family, Windows virtual server family, VMWare virtual server family, Microsoft SQL Server family, MySQL server, LINUX and UNIX server operating environments for multiple School of Nursing campuses. • Works closely with the Sr. Systems Analyst and the Assistant Dean; and researches, evaluates, recommends for purchase, hardware, peripherals and services; is responsible for backups; performs analysis, scripting, and other complex tasks related, but not limited to maintaining network servers, including, but not limited to, capacity planning,! resource management, and security issues; implement and maint! ain procedures for ensuring uninterrupted operation of client workstations as they pertain to network server utilization. • Develops, maintains and executes installation and configuration standards and procedures for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network servers. • Manage technology account; maintain accurate records of hardware and software status. • Provide system support for day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution. • Provides second tier problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency using the following software: Windows Server OS Family, MS Virtual Server, MS Office Suite. Excellent networking knowledge in TCP/IP, SSH, NTFS permission and other standard network administration skills. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Must be able to provide guidance and training to school employees. Subnet masking, Backup Exec, VMWare, VDI server security standards, fi! rewalls, security, policies, ADUC.

Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a focus on computer technology, computer science, information systems, engineering preferred, with 3 years of server administration; or a combination of education and experience at a 2:1 ratio.

NOTE: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours when needed. Position is on-call 24x7 for server and networking problems and outages.
