LPN/RN Unit Manager

Location: Fort Wayne Indiana

Description: TLC Management is at the momment seeking for LPN/RN Unit Manager right now, this occupation will be placed in Indiana. The primary purpose of this position is to provide for the daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the resident which includes providing professional assessments, documentation of the resid! ent’s health, management of the assigned nursing units, Charge Nurses, RNs, LPNs, CNAs and QMAs.

Reports directly to the Director of Nursing

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Making daily and periodic resident visits for observation.

Monitoring each resident’s psychological functions; fluid balance; elimination; electrolyte, laboratory results, respiratory, neurological and nutritional status.

Maintaining safe staffing levels.

Supervising the obtainment/documentation of vital signs, intake/output, weights, diet supplements/replacements, cultures, etc.

Observing and notifing appropriate parties of any changes in resident’s health/mental state.

Making rounds with physician.

Preparing and administering medications.

Implementing restorative nursing measures.

Providing care to residents with special needs.

Supervising in and starting/maintaini! ng IVs.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining up-! to-date document progress and recommending revisions to resident care plans/MDS.

Completing (24) hour reports, end of shift reports, shift narcotic counts and documenting the destruction of outdated/discontinued medications.

Coordinating assignments for Charge Nurses, RNs, LPNs, CNs and QMAs.

Required Qualifications:
Must have an active RN license in good standing with the State of Indiana.
Must have at least 5+ years of experience working on a skilled nursing unit.
Must also have nursing management experience.

Desired Qualifications:
Previous management experience in a long term care facility.
